Have you ever felt like trying something different? Starting from scratch, feeling challenged? That’s exactly what happened to me when I found photography!

From the time, I first graduated through the years working in the academic area, as both a teacher and researcher, were 25 years of dedication! Despite loving my classes and the routine with my students, I still needed a different way to express my thought, ideas, feelings and emotions, giving wings to my imagination. And within this context, photography came to me.

This is a legacy from a father who is passionate for family registers. This present vocation continues my involvement with human beings, enabling a new perception of their nuances and subtleties, and, at the same time learning a new tool to transform them.

With the vigour and commitment which are my characteristics, I dedicated myself to study, running after those in the know, taking courses, looking for consultants and, of course, I practising, a lot, exhaustively. This way, I focused my energies on photos, unveiling this fascinating world of images. Also, I could see that once again my family heritage was present, now from my mom, artistic who always brings art and beauty as a solution to our day-by-day.

All of these process involved in taking a photo, bring me the so-desired harmony between emotion and reason – creativity and technique, that, through portrait photography, enable me to honour the essence of people with all of their creative manifestations. And joining this enchantment with travels to meet new people and experience fascinating cultures, makes my passion complement my relentless search to expand my knowledge and go beyond.

And that’s how I live for photography: connecting yesterday, today and tomorrow. As the famous photographer Ansel Adams once said:

“You don’t make a photograph just with a camera. You bring all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved to the act of photographing”.
